Submission Guidelines

We invite original, unpublished, and high-quality submissions from scholars, academicians, legal practitioners, research scholars, and students for publication in the Academic Journal of Legal and Social Research (AJLSR). Submissions must align with the journal’s aim to foster interdisciplinary legal and socio-legal scholarship.

Categories of Submissions:

1.Short Articles 

  • Word Limit: 2000–3000 words (excluding footnotes) 
  • Focus: Brief analyses on contemporary legal or social issues, recent legislative changes, or succinct academic arguments.


2.Long Articles 

  • Word Limit: 4000–8000 words (excluding footnotes) 
  • Focus: In-depth research papers addressing broader legal and social themes, critical evaluations, doctrinal analyses, or theoretical perspectives.

3.Essays 

  • Word Limit: 1000–2000 words (excluding footnotes) 
  • Focus: Opinionated or exploratory writing on legal and social policy matters, jurisprudential reflections, or normative legal reform.

     

4.Case Commentaries 

  • Word Limit: 1500–3000 words (excluding footnotes) 
  • Focus: Analytical discussion of recent or landmark judgments, interpreting judicial reasoning, and discussing implications.

General Formatting Guidelines 

  • Font: Times New Roman 
  • Font Size: 12-point for body text, 10-point for footnotes 
  • Line Spacing: 1.5 for body, single-spaced for footnotes 
  • Margins: 1 inch on all sides 
  • Footnotes: Must conform to the Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (21st edition) 
  • Language: English 

Authorship and Submission Policy 

  • Co-authorship: Allowed up to 2 authors for Essays and Case Commentaries, and up to 3 authors for Short and Long Articles. 
  • All submissions must be original and unpublished, and must not be under consideration elsewhere. 
  • Plagiarism exceeding 10% will result in outright rejection. 
  • Submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process. 
  • Authors must include an abstract (150–250 words) and 5–7 keywords with their manuscript.

     

Submission Process 

  • Submissions must be sent via email to: submission@ajlsr.com 
  • The subject line should read: “Submission – [Type of Manuscript] – [Author Name(s)]” 
  • All communication and notifications will be sent via email. 

 

Publication Fees 

  • Indian Authors: ₹963/- 
  • International Authors: $20 
    *This fee is applicable only after acceptance of the manuscript.
